Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Who we are

Euterria is a climate collaboration platform operated on behalf of BayCAN (Bay Area Climate Action Network). It helps member organizations, staff, and partners discover people, resources, and programs across the network. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@euterria.org.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

  • Create an account (name, email address, password or Google OAuth token)
  • Build a member profile (job title, organization, photo, bio, skills, issue areas, location)
  • Upload resources or artifacts (documents, links, metadata)
  • Create or manage an organization profile (name, description, logo, website, location, focus areas)
  • Contact another member through the platform

We also collect limited technical data automatically, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and platform improvement purposes.

3. How we use your information

  • To operate and display your profile and organization within the Euterria network
  • To power search and discovery features across members, organizations, resources, and programs
  • To facilitate contact between members (via our Resend-backed email system)
  • To send transactional emails such as account confirmation, password reset, and contact notifications
  • To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Visibility of your information

Your profile and organization data is visible to other authenticated Euterria members by default. Some information — such as organization profiles and public resource pages — may be visible to unauthenticated visitors. You can control certain visibility settings from your privacy settings.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a Supabase-managed Postgres database hosted on AWS in the United States. We use row-level security policies to enforce access controls at the database level. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS.

6. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — authentication and database
  • Google OAuth — optional sign-in method
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Mapbox — map rendering for the organization directory
  • Vercel — hosting and deployment

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

7. Your rights

You may at any time:

  • Update or correct your profile information from your account settings
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

To make a data deletion request, email hello@euterria.org.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
